NAAS-YUVA (Youth United for Visionary Agriculture)

Background:

The National Academy of Agricultural Sciences has established the NAAS-YUVA (Youth United for Visionary Agriculture) to recognize and nurture young scientific talent in the NARES. This initiative aims to drive excellence in agricultural research and academia, contributing to national sustainable development.

The forum is specifically designed to inspire and harness the innovative potential of young minds in agricultural sciences. Its objectives include organizing scientific programs and consultations on critical agricultural and related issues, while actively engaging youth—ranging from school students to young scholars and educators—in fostering groundbreaking innovations.

Organisation and Governance:

A Working Group of young scientists has been formed to manage the day-to-day activities of the NAAS-YUVA, operating under the guidance of an Advisory Board that includes the Hon’ble President, Vice-Presidents, and Secretaries of the Academy. All members of the Working Group are young scientists ≤ 45 years age, representing a wide range of key sections and disciplines from ICAR and SAUs.
